INFOGRAPHIC COLLABORATION:
SYSTEMIC RACISM IN AMERICA
Collaborative project by Katie Argueta, Jie Zheng and Sarah Ficcaro
A big responsibility of a designer is the communication of information and data to a visual narrative. This was a project I and two of my peers took on as a way to research information about the issue of systemic racism in America. Being in a field that allows you to share information in a visual way, it is important to take on research projects such as this to share information about important issues of our time that need to be discussed.
FINAL PIECE
My peers and I set up our process together and project schedule. We met weekly to coordinate our timeline and project assignments. We began by identifying the overall issue and researching the subject. We then identified 7 main points we wanted to explore and divided further research among ourselves.

We created mood boards for colors, illustration style (inspired by yujin Won), and layout. As we all looked for inspiration, Jie Zheng finalized the mood board with text options, color scheme, and illustration style. We then each sketched out a visual representation of what we researched.
Jie Zheng was responsible for curating the color pallet, finalizing the illustration style, and typography choice. The Illustrations were divided between Sarah Ficarro and me. Once it was all illustrated Jie Zheng inputted the text into the layout with the illustrations.
